Pregnancy Pictures

The weight chart was something Vern and I were curious about how this second pregnancy would compare to the first.  We also did a projection of what we would think Vern would be at when Koji is born.

The pregnancy pictures consist of Koji's ultrasounds.  I also added the pictures of his first couple of days in the NICU.

Koji is home!  Now the fun really begins.  I took a week off of work to help Vern with Koji.  We figured we would both get up and take care of him so it would go faster and easier.  We start off by breastfeeding him while I go prepare his old breast milk.  We add 1/2 tsp of premie formula to 45 ml of breast milk to give him extra calories.  After about 10-20 min of breastfeeding I will feed him by bottle while Vern finishing pumping.  Then I change his diaper while she cleans/sterilizes the bottles and pumps.  Finally, we put him back down to sleep after about one hour.

He is on a 3-hour schedule, and accurate down to 5 min during the night :p, from the time he last woke up (so about 2 hours).  So far he has eaten at 1700, 2000, 2300, 0200, 0500, 0800, 1100, and 1400 hrs.  So far he has not been very fussy.

Thomason Hospital Special Care Nurseries was really great.  The nurses were awesome.  They also provided him with some clothes and a couple crochet baby blankets.  I guess they really took a liking to Koji. I did not notice the other babies going out with so many clothes and blankets.  I baked them some cup cakes and banana bread but it does not even come close to how much help they have been.

Although, we have an old play pen (almost like this but not as nice) with a changing station, bassinette, mobile, and music, it has been better to put him in the swing cradle.  It plays music but I put two speakers in the pouches on the back and plugged in my iPod Nano for some Baby Genius Brain Music and Tune Your Brain with Mozart.  We did not want to get a crib since TK moved to a bed pretty quickly.  I want to say in under 2 years.  Maybe later when he gets more mobile we will have to put him in the bottom of the playpen to sleep.
